Flashback to Coimbatore Car Bomb Blast

Rewind to October 23, 2022 – a blast outside the ancient "Arulmigu Kottai Sangameshwarar Thirukovil" temple in Coimbatore. The blast happened in a car driven by Jamesha Mubeen, who sadly didn't make it.

NIA's Detective Work: Unveiling the Terror Plan

Taking over the investigation four days after the blast, the NIA uncovered a sinister plot. Mubeen, Azarudeen, Umar Faaruq, Sheikh Hidayathullah, and Sanofer Ali were plotting a series of terror attacks in Coimbatore. The scary plan was brewed up in the Sathyamangalam forest in Tamil Nadu.

"The attack was intended to wreak vengeance on the Kafirs (non-believers), as stated in one of the self-made confessional videos made by the accused a few days before the attack," spilled the NIA in a statement.

Azarudeen's Role: The Plot Thickens

Let's shine the spotlight on Azarudeen – the NIA says he played the role of a "pedagogue to the module involved in the attack." Azarudeen had a history, having been nabbed by the NIA in Kochi for spreading ISIS ideology. He was also linked to the NTJ (National Towheed Jama’at) module in Sri Lanka, the gang behind the 2019 Easter Blast.

"Investigations further revealed that Azarudeen had motivated three other accused who met him in Viyyur high-security prison. This led to the subsequent Sathyamangalam conspiracy meeting, resulting in the planning and preparation of the instant terror attack. Accused Umar Faaruq was elected as the Amir (chief) to lead the execution," spilled the NIA.

Idris' Involvement: Another Piece of the Puzzle

Now, meet Idris – part of Azarudeen's crew, radicalized by ISIS and inspired by Maulvi Zahran bin Hashim, the main bomber in the 2019 Sri Lanka attacks. Idris' job? Get a used car for the blast and assist the main dude in pulling off the attack.

"The larger aim of the conspiracy was to create terror in the minds of a section of society by targeting its various branches, i.e., general administration, police, judiciary, etc," the NIA dropped this bombshell, revealing the grand plan behind the conspiracy.

In a nutshell, the NIA is on fire, revealing the nitty-gritty of the Coimbatore car blast case. It's a stark reminder that we need to keep our eyes peeled for any shady business and stand united against such threats. Stay safe, everyone!
