Acharya Satyendra Das, the main priest of Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra, attacked Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, on Saturday while denouncing the attack of sadhus (seers) in the Purulia area. The priest claimed that the chief minister "gets angry when she sees the 'Bhagwa' color" and cited previous attacks on religious processions in the state in remarks to the news agency ANI.

Mamata Banerjee had been given the name Mumtaz Khan by someone. Attacks have been made against religious processions, including those celebrating Ram Navami, according to Das.

"Mamata Banerjee orchestrates these attacks because she becomes enraged upon seeing the color "Bhagwa."These assault occurrences are just unacceptable," he continued.

Following the viral release of a film purportedly showing a mob beating a group of sadhus in the Purulia area, Amit Malviya of the BJP IT cell claimed that the assailants were criminals connected to the ruling Trinamool Congress.

"Under Mamata Banerjee's government, sadhus are being lynched and a terrorist like Shahjahan Sheikh receives state protection." Being a Hindu in West Bengal is illegal, according to Malviya.

Purulia Superintendent of Police (SP) Avijit Banerjee subsequently revealed that 12 people had been apprehended in the event which occurred near Gourangdih.

Banerjee claims that the sadhus were traveling in a car when they "asked them something" as they halted in front of three females who were on their way to a nearby Kali mandir for puja.

He went on to describe the situation, saying that "the girls thought that the Sadhus were following them due to some misunderstandings that happened due to some language issues."

According to him, things became worse when the sadhus were taken to a place close to Durga Mandir by locals who thought the sadhus were threatening the girls.

Police said that the sadhus were physically attacked by the mob and that they had vandalized their car.

"A Sadhu's complaint has prompted the filing of a lawsuit. An inquiry is ongoing, and 12 persons have been taken into custody thus far," SP Banerjee promised.
